Background Kaipara Coast Sculpture Gardens are a tranquil, peaceful oasis set in gardens on a rural property looking out to the Kaipara Harbour. It features selected contemporary sculptures, created by established and emerging New Zealand artists. David Bayly has owned and operated Kaipara Coast Plant Centre from this site since 1988 and it has been his vision for many years to create a Sculpture Garden in the secluded valley next to the Plant Centre. His aim was to create a place where visitors to the gardens can stroll along the sculpture trail and find inspiration for selecting sculptures and plants to enhance their gardens and property while enjoying great views of the rural setting. The Sculpture Trail is a large outdoor Art Gallery where sculptures are discovered while strolling through the gardens, the bush track and past the ponds. All the works are for sale and the sculptures on display will be continually changing to give you a fresh experience each time you come.
About the trail · The Sculpture Trail at Kaipara Coast Sculpture Gardens is an easy 1km walk on gravel paths which are accessible for mountain buggies. Not suitable for wheelchairs. · Allow 1 ˝ hours to enjoy the walk fully and take in all the sculptures. · There are many seats along the path to allow for resting and contemplating the views and sculptures. · The sculptors have spent many hours of “Blood, sweat and tears” to create these sculptures; please respect this by not touching or climbing on the artworks.
General guidelines for the trail · No dogs (Except Guide Dogs) · The Trail is open daily from 9am to 5pm with last entry at 4pm. · Adults, please supervise your children around the sculptures and ponds. · Any damages incurred will need to be paid for. · Please stay on the pathway as the trail has been designed to be followed in sequence to optimise the views of each sculpture. · Please respect the environment by not removing any plant material. · Please take any rubbish with you. · Due to the fire risk - Please No Smoking
Sales · Pieces can be purchased using cash, cheque, Eftpos, Visa, MasterCard or Amex. · Prices do not include transportation and installation unless specified in the catalogue. · We can organise shipping & installation if required. Prices include GST.
Safety While all care has been taken to ensure your safety, you enter the premises at your own risk and Kaipara Coast Sculpture Gardens accept no liability for injury to yourself or the loss or damage to your property. You also accept that you will pay for any damage incurred by you or members of your party to the sculptures. You will be asked to sign in to the gardens and by entering the property you agree to these conditions.
